Business Talk – In conversation with WeBuyCars founder, Faan van der Walt

Faan van der Walt is the founder and government director of WeBuyCars, a company that’s remodeling the way in which that South Africans privately promote and purchase vehicles within the motor commerce trade.

WeBuyCars goals to assist non-public people safely promote their automobiles and offering purchasers with a variety of reasonably priced, top quality used automobiles.

As a director, van der Walt’s focus is on creating and sustaining a novel business tradition and philosophy the place the wants of their clients come first.

In this episode of Business Talk, van der Walt talks via how the Covid pandemic has impacted day-to-day business at WeBuyCars, and the challenges of being a pacesetter throughout such a troublesome time.

As the company celebrates its 20-year anniversary this year, he tells Michael Avery about sustaining the underdog mentality – a way of ‘fighting the big guys’ whereas persevering with to develop. “It’s been a nice journey, but it’s not the end, we still have lots of plans for the future.”

Transaction Capital not too long ago concluded agreements to extend its shareholding in WeBuyCars to 74.9%, a deal that van der Walt believes is a ‘win-win’ for each events. “We’ve got great plans, we are going to do great things together.”

WeBuyCars extends past shopping for and promoting secondhand automobiles, with a spread of companies, together with financing, insurance coverage, and monitoring. The group not too long ago launched a primary for the South African motor market: a web based automotive public sale, which van der Walt is worked up about.
