Reason ditches hip-hop for amapiano and Cassper has quite the opinion

Amapiano has been THAT style these days with just a few of Mzansi’s high rappers hopping on the bandwagon. Heavyweight rapper Reason is the newest of South Africa’s rappers to rap on an amapiano beat and just a few folks had some issues to say.

REASON COLLABORATIONS WITH DJ MAPHORISA

Reason is one of South African Hip Hop’s top lyricists and joined DJ Maphorisa for a music that’s set to drop on Friday, 23 July. Reason has rebranded and will launch the music below a brand new identify Sizwe Alakine. 

He teased the music, Khanda Shisa on social media and followers have been enthusiastic about the launch however questioned why so many rappers have been hopping onto the amapiano wave. One one that had an opinion about Reason’s new music was Cassper Nyovest.



CASSPER NYOVEST SHARES HIS OPINION

One Twitter person talked about that it might be attention-grabbing to see what different rappers would say about Reason’s sudden swap to amapiano. The profitable rapper responded writing that folks have all the time criticised him about his strikes in music. He emphasied that folks will all the time observe him. 

Another tweep joined the dialog saying folks used to talk badly about Cassper’s dive into amapiano. 

“Like dawg… This should show you that it’s all admiration at the end of the dat. Haters are actually your biggest fans, they just wish it wasn’t you.”

REASON CLAPS BACK

Reason not directly clapped again at Cassper. The rapper felt that in his opinion, the solely two artists who paved the method for amapiano have been Focalistic and Lady Du. 

Responding to a different tweet about Hip-Hop artists making amapiano, Reason wrote, 

“What’s wrong with hip hop artists making Piano though? It’s our sound. Why glorify the idea of us pushing an American sound when we can jump on our own too? We still love hip hop. But the country loves piano (more).”
